Q.What does a typical pool inspection consist of?
A typical pool service will first comprise of a visit to the pool to inspect the area and the damage. This is followed by a diagnosis of the issue. If the issue is minor, then the work is done on the spot within an hour. For major repair work, a bill estimate and schedule for completing the work is given. An agreement on the time can be made based on mutual availability. The service also includes testing and demo and a post-service clean-up of the work area.
Q.What are the charges for repair work?
A standard call out charge to inspect a location is AED 100. In case of an emergency visit, then the call out charge is AED 200. A call out charge to a site includes an inspection of the location and a diagnosis of the issue. The charge includes 1.5 hours’ worth of labor. All minor repairs will be done during this time. For major repair work, a bill of estimate and time required is provided.
Q.Does the pool need to be emptied for minor repairs?
For minor repair work, the pool does not need to be emptied. Repair work is done using fast setting plaster or pool putty. Both of these can be applied even when the pool is filled with water. For larger repair work, the pool needs to be emptied. All cracks and holes are first wiped clean of dust and debris. Then concrete, caulk, and other filling materials are mixed and added to the crack in order while making sure that the previous layer has dried. The pool can be used once again when the last layer dries completely.For fiberglass pools, the technique is different.

Follow the basic steps – skim the leaves and debris off the surface, brush sediment off the walls, floor and fixtures, vacuum the pool, clean the skimmer, keep your pump running for continuous circulation, check your filter, test your pool water and add chemicals accordingly.

You should clean your pool superficially at least once a week. How often you get professionals in to do the job is a personal choice, but signing up with a company for regular visits a few times a year is a good idea.
