Cockroaches are the most common pest in every home. Untidy rooms, leaks, decayed food, etc attract them and with them comes many diseases that can make you and your family unhealthy. Keep the bathrooms dry
Keep your bathroom dry without any water collection for longer periods. Cockroaches will feel welcome in your home if it is wet. Don’t let the water settle under your washing machine, water heater, bathtub, sink, WC, shower area, etc. Also, check for the leaks and fix them immediately. You can pour hot water into the sink drain pipe and spread the bleaching powder on the surface of the sink to keep the cockroaches away.
Clean your home regularly
Keep your home spick and span if you wish not make your home as a shelter for cockroaches. Cockroaches love dirty and cluttered places. Regular home cleaning or vacuuming is the best way to get rid of cockroaches. Don’t leave pieces of food scattered or lying around for long after eating. Clean the area where you have cooked your food and wrap all the dirt and unwanted food in covers before throwing into the dustbin.

Sprinkle the dry boric acid powder along the corners of your home. It works well in killing cockroaches.
Bay leaves acts as a good cockroach repellent. Bay leaves have an odor that is unpleasant for cockroaches. Take a couple of bay leaves, crush them and place along the corners.
Neem works effectively in getting rid of cockroaches. Mix the neem leaf mixture with water and spray it in the corners.

Pour 10 ounces of water in a spray bottle and 15 drops of peppermint oil. Mix it thoroughly and spray around possible entry points, organic waste, and dark corners to avoid roaches.
Don’t leave utensils overnight
Leaving the unclean utensils overnight in a dishwasher or sink can be a reason for roaches to settle in your home. Clean all the utensils and never leave the food in the dishwasher or sink. Cleaning the utensils alone cannot help in keeping roaches away. Clean filters of the washer so the food that was stuck will be removed. Fix if there are any leaks and use bleaching in and around the dishwasher or sink to keep them tidy.
Store your food properly
Store the food in containers with tight lids whether it is a refrigerated or non-refrigerated food. Keep the place clean by removing spoiled food and other clutter where you are storing the food. It also makes you spot the roaches easily. Utmost care should be taken if you have kids at your home.
